How do I search?
The on-screen search information is always available from the "Help" button.

1. Select the type of search you want to perform. You can search by Title, Author, Subject, Keyword or Call number.
2. In the blank box, type in what you are searching for. (For more detailed descriptions on how to do a search, please refer to the on-screen information. If the catalog does not contain an exact match, it will give you the closest match alphabetically.
3. A subject search will show you a list of subject headings currently active in the catalog, with the heading that most closely matches whatever you're entered at the top of the list. Other subject headings are listed alphabetically. Click on a subject heading that interests you and the computer will display a list of all items filed under that heading.

How can I request materials?
When you find a title that you would like to borrow:

• call 201-634-2703,
• email mdoremus@co.bergen.nj.us or
• stop by the Health Promotion Resource Center at 327 E. Ridgewood Avenue, Room 301, Paramus. Call first to assure access.

If the title is available, you can pick up materials during operating hours. Courier service is available for schools and local boards of health in contracting towns. Libraries can request materials via interlibrary loan.

How long may I keep materials?
Videos and other audiovisuals: Videos and audiovisuals may be checked out for 5 business days. Renewals will be granted unless a reserve has been placed on an item.

Books and other print materials: Books, journals and other print references may be borrowed for 10 business days.

All books and audiovisuals may be borrowed...unless designated as a part of the reference (R) collection.
