All businesses are invited to participate by registering and encouraging employees to walk on April 16th. People at home or in school are also welcome to participate.
Special awards will be given to companies with the highest percentage of participants (in three size categories).
People who don't usually take a walk at lunchtime may notice feeling more energized and productive, and want to continue daily physical activity.
Remember, when employees are physically active, health care costs for preventable diseases and stress related conditions can decrease. Regular physical activity can prevent or delay many chronic health conditions.
