Must I be a physician to be a volunteer for the MRC?

A -

No. Any medical professional is welcome to be a volunteer.

Can a retired person join?

A -

Yes. Volunteers from all areas of medical professions, including retired persons, can join Bergen County's MRC.

Q -

What if I want to join but do not drive?

A -

At this time we may not have a specific “team” placement for non-driving volunteers, but hope to have some duties which they can engage in without needing transportation. (ie: phone coordination, meeting and training advisement via computer, etc.)

Is there a role for senior citizens in your MRC?

A -

There are a variety of tasks which can be completed by seniors; however, volunteers much have been engaged in a medical progression. Through our training program you will have the opportunity to expand your volunteer role.

Can handicap persons join the MRC?

A -

Yes. We are a volunteer organization and open to membership by all medical professionals.
