ROCKLEIGH, NJ – Bergen County Executive Dennis McNerney announces that the Bergen County Health Care Center received zero deficiencies on its recent annual state inspection. The survey, conducted by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, indicated that the facility was 100 percent compliant with the Federal requirements and advisory standards for nursing homes. This represents the fourteenth year since 1991, when the current administrator assumed responsibility for the Health Care Center, that the state inspection has found zero deficiencies.
“Bergen County is indeed fortunate to have such an outstanding facility available to our residents,” said McNerney. “The warmth and compassion of staff when they interact with residents provides a quality of care not easily obtained.”
The State Survey Team conducted a weeklong inspection that encompassed a thorough review of each discipline at the Center. Each discipline, including administration, nursing, business office, social services, dietary, recreation, housekeeping and maintenance, received zero deficiencies. The State Survey Team also rated the Center excellent under quality of life.
The Health Care Center enjoys a distinguished reputation for providing the highest quality care in a warm, homelike setting. Situated in a 52-acre wooded area of northeast Bergen County, this 110-bed skilled nursing care center provides 24-hour care to residents including hospice, rehabilitation, respite and palliative/comfort care. All beds are certified for Medicare/Medicaid. The Center provides residents with personalized professional care by a team of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nurses aids, physicians, dietitians, activity specialists, social workers and ancillary personnel.
